In October I wove almost every day and in November I've hardly woven at all. To use the expression that "life has gotten in the way" would be true, but I don't mind that it has. It's just been a very busy month, with different priorities.
Today though, I wove some of the piece that's on my floor loom and yesterday I finished warping up the Salish loom that I've recently 'inherited'. Last week, at my study group, I did some more work on the piece on my copper-pipe loom............................... maybe, just maybe, I have too many fingers in too many pies?!
Confession time...................... it is over a month since I last blogged. I said then that I would talk about my teacher, Elaine Duncan. Can it be only sixteen months since we first met? She is now such an influential part of my life. I have taken three week-long courses with Elaine and we also meet almost every fortnight at a tapestry study group. The other ladies in these groups are also encouraging, inspirational, supportive and so very friendly ................ thursday mornings are very happy times!
Elaine has a great website www.elaineduncan.com. If you view the tapestries in her Gallery you can see part of her tapestry 'journey'. I particularly enjoy the tapestries of tree bark - such intricate detail and wonderful colour palette.
I don't like doing a text only post, so I shall add a photograph of one of the designs that I made during this past summer and then I will blog about it asap!
